Michael Hall – Managing Partner

Michael has a myriad of knowledge in the sports community derived from a multi-faceted education built on experience and formal education.  Michael began his timing and coaching career after graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2004 where he earned a B.S. in Sport Management.  In the time since his graduation, Michael has provided timing and scoring services to hundreds of events along the east coast.  These events range from local community races to national qualifying competitions.  In addition to his race experience, Michael and his staff helped to provide critical support for the launch of the MYLAPS Disposable Multi-Sport Chip that is now used at many high profile triathlons and mud runs all across the world.

Michael’s experience goes beyond his technical knowledge as a timer.  He is also a certified United States Track and Field Level I and Level II Endurance Coach.  Over the past 14 years, he has coached All-Americans, National Junior Olympic Qualifiers, NEPSTA New England Champions and numerous All-State Runners.  Michael has worked as a consultant, a private club coach at Fast Track Elite, and as a Head or Assistant Coach at New Milford High School, Central Connecticut State University and Shepaug Valley High School.

Michael has also spent 25 years running and competing in races.  He began his running career at Shepaug Valley High School in Washington, Connecticut.  During his time at Shepaug Valley, he was a seven time Conference All-Star as well as six time CIAC Class S All-State Selection in Cross Country and Track.  After high school some of Michael’s accomplishments include being an All New England Selection in the 10,000M while competing for Uconn, and finishing 3rd at the 2008 Hartford Marathon as a post-collegiate runner.

Finally to round out his experiences Michael has been directing or advising race organizers since 1999.  Most notably in 2007 and 2008, in the role of elite athlete coordinator, he assembled two of the fastest 5K races ever run in Connecticut state history.  In the span of those two years he assembled a field that produced a winning time of 13:36 for the men and 15:46 for the women.  Those race fields produced a combined 100 runners that finished under 18 minutes and 30 runners that finished under 15 minutes.  These two races had arguably two of the deepest 5k road race fields ever assembled in Connecticut.

Michael’s combination of knowledge as a director, timer, coach, and athlete helped him to lead Fast Track Timing to an elite level of service.
