The Southbury Women’s Club along with its platinum sponsors, Michael Friedman Orthodontics and Overhead Door Company of Waterbury are pleased to announce that over 2,000 runners are currently registered for the Seventh Annual Southbury Turkey Trot to be held on Thanksgiving morning.

The majority of proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Southbury Food and Fuel Banks and the Needy Fund.  The Kid’s Fun Run will benefit Little Britches, a non-profit organization based in Roxbury, CT, which supports individuals with special needs through the use of horses and ponies.

Turkey Trot (5K) – 8:30 a.m.

The Turkey Trot will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. The race will start on Main Street (in front of 760 Main Street across from the Gazebo). Main Street will be shut down at 8:15 a.m.  Please do not congregate on Main Street or line up prior to 8:15 a.m.

The course is out and back on Main Street South and is USA Track & Field (USATF) certified.

In order to ensure the safety of all participants, please line up based on your race pace.  Please allow the faster runners to line up at the front of the line.  Participants with strollers, slower runners and walkers should line up toward the back of the line. No dogs are allowed on the course.

Packet Pick-up

We strongly encourage picking up your race packet/bib on Wednesday in order to enhance the race day experience by minimizing the volume of people at packet pick-up on race day.

Date:    Wednesday, November 22nd

Time:    9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Place:    The Gym, 730 Main Street South

NOTE: Your race bag will include your bib tag with integrated chip and t-shirt (if you registered by 11/1).

If you plan to pick up your packet on race day please arrive no later than 7:45 a.m.

Kid’s Fun Run  

The Kid’s Fun Run will be held behind The Gym. Please arrive NO LATER THAN 7:50 A.M.  The race will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Registration for the Kid’s Fun Run will be available during packet pick-up at The Gym on Wednesday, November 22nd and on race day from 7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.


The Gym parking lot will be closed the morning of the race.  Please find an alternative parking location in the vicinity.  Please do not park at the Post Office or Urgent Care.  Given Main Street South will be closed beginning at 8:15 a.m., you are strongly encouraged to arrive by 8:00 a.m.


An awards ceremony will occur following the race.  Awards will be given to all top male and female finishers in nine age categories ranging from under 10 years of age to over 70.  Team awards will also be given at this time.


Turkey Trot hats will be for sale at packet pick-up on Wednesday and on race day for $20.00.
