Running Goddess at Lasdon Park – Katonah, NY

A race celebrating women’s health & education on the exquisite arboretum grounds.

“The Power of One”

It only takes ONE educated girl to inspire and transform a community.  It only takes ONE woman to create a resource for other women to find hope and strength for themselves and their families.

The Running Goddess is an organization committed to supporting women and girls in their pursuit of health and education. Through your involvement, girls locally and abroad will be uplifted. By nurturing a girl’s love of science, or helping women lead balanced and healthy lives, your contribution will make a difference.

Our run/walk is a family event and we welcome everyone to show their support. This year we are proud to sponsor the following organizations:

  • KEEP (Katonah Education Exchange Program) in partnership with Kakenya Center for Excellence – Founded by Kakenya Ntaiya and based in Kenya, the center provides primary schooling for girls from the town of Enoosaen and fosters awareness to break the cycle of destructive cultural Kenyan practices such as genital cutting and forced early marriages. KEEP is sponsoring 32 girls in the fifth grade.
  • Support Connection of Yorktown Heights – Founded by Katherine Quinn, Support Connection provides free health and wellness programs and emotional support groups for women and their families affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
  • The Running Goddess Scholarship – Open to Westchester and Putnam County students, this scholarship is offered to an athletic, high school senior female interested in majoring in the college sciences.
  • The Running Goddess International Scholarship – Asian University for Women (Bangladesh) – provided to one girl who is majoring in the sciences.
